Communication, restored.
Fohr is an AI-powered communication-accessibility tool designed for people living with aphasia.
Our Story
Fohr was co-founded by Chris and Caroline after Caroline experienced a stroke at the age of 38, leaving her with expressive aphasia. Before her stroke, Caroline spent 15 years as an NHS Mental Health Nurse and later as a Serious Investigation Lead, specialising in preventable patient deaths and communication-related failures.
After her stroke, she experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to express basic needs, feelings, and decisions — especially in moments where being understood truly matters.
Fohr was created to change that.
Our mission is simple: Help people with aphasia communicate more clearly, confidently, and independently.
Fohr uses AI to support expression in a way that feels natural and true to the user’s own intent and voice. It’s built from lived experience, shaped by real-world challenges, and grounded in dignity and independence.
